(EN) La Salamanca's Demo & Steps for the Future
The Demo is now available!
After months in development, the Demo for "La Salamanca", Carpincho Studio's first game, is available completely free for everyone to enjoy.
The demo was presented live at the "Star Wars Rosario Fan Club Celebration" (Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina), a charity event that, despite being themed around the legendary "Star Wars" saga, we were given the opportunity to show the game's demo to hundreds or even thousands of people. People of all ages had the chance to play the demo at our booth, with a really positive reception! Even with this, we have already noted some problems with the demo, some being simple bugs or technical issues that will be corrected soon, and other errors or game design issues that could be improved, such as better ways to guide the player through the level, and give a better context to the narrative without harming the experience. We also think about improvements for the booth itself, with the possibility of being present at other conventions or local events such as the well-known "Crack Bang Boom", amongst others.
We want to wholeheartedly thank the people of "Star Wars Rosario Fan Club" and the "La Opera" party hall for giving us this incredible opportunity, it was an unforgettable experience!
So... What now?
First of all, with the feedback we got thanks to the event, we are already thinking about multiple changes for the demo. It is likely that some technical fixes will be dropped soon, while a new version of the demo is being worked on with several of its systems completely rewriten, including a possible new localization system to be able to change the game's language from the options menu, a new, much more optimized player movement system, multiple options when raising and lowering the game volume (general volume, music volume, effects), etc.
Now, the next few months will be crucial for us, so we believe that we must increase our visibility more to be able to reach more players, and in this way both Carpincho Studio and "La Salamanca" as a game will become better known. This through promotion both on social media and through participation in similar events.
As we mentioned on the small survey provided to people who tested the demo at the event, we do not rule out the idea of creating, at some point, a crowdfunding campaign to obtain enough money to hire talented people and increase the quality of the product, more than anything in areas such as: Art and Models, both in 3D and 2D (With unique assets for the game), Music and sound design (SFX), Narrative improvements, Translations, Level design and among others. We are also planning to create a Steam page for La Salamanca soon, so you can wishlist it!
In the meantime, we want to thank everyone for supporting the project, we plan to make more devlogs like these in the future, showing progress on the games development and other news.
And remember... This is just the beginning!
